"Dear K Shea and the staff at Katilady, I know that this letter is late in coming, but the sentiment it carries has not worn out. Thank you so much for helping Jon-Mychal and I create the wedding of our dreams. I know that I was not a typical bride, it was more than we could as for to have a catering and planning staff that allowed us to do our own thing. I would have been miserable if I had felt pressured to have a wedding that was someone else's vision, and I never once felt that you questioned my tastes. Every suggestion that you had was in tune with the feeling we wanted our wedding to have. From the simple and elegant decorations to the sublime cake (people are still talking about it.and all the food, in fact!), it was perfection. And better than anything else, it was exactly what we wanted - not what someone else did. It really mattered to me that you listened to what we were saying and put in into action beautifully. Thank you. I have enclosed a bunch of pictures from the ceremony and reception. I know that you have pictures that you show prospective clients (in fact, that was one of the most convincing aspects of your company-real life pictures), and thought that you might find some of them useful. Once again, thank you so much for all of the work you did for our wedding. It was truly spectacular."

KatiLady Events “Red Hot” People’s Choice at Flavors of St. John
 St. John Tradewinds

The evening was filled with fantastic food, drinks, lively music and dancing during the 2006 Flavors of St. John at The Westin Resort and Villas on Saturday, November 18. The annual St. John Rotary Club event benefits the Love City Pan Dragons and educational scholarships.

Sponsored by The Restaurants of The Marketplace, West Indies Corp., Bellows International and Premiere Wine & Spirits, the more than 250 attendees were treated to Pama Pomegranite Martini’s, Absolute Ruby Red and Veuve Cliqcout Rose Champagne — while tasting the fabulous flavors of St. John.

People’s Choice Winner
The night’s People’s Choice Award went to KatiLady Events. The veteran catering and events company displayed an amazing collection of appetizers, entree tastings and their tantalizing Shrimp Shooter, which included coconut shrimp, a layer of virgin painkiller mix and chunks of pineapple above a layer of strawberry jello with rum.

The fantastic fare was enhanced by a presentation which got everyone to notice their extraordinary talents.

“It was fun to compete with the well-respected restaurants on the island. The evening was great!” said KatiLady Events Director of Operations Katie Shea Tarta. “The theme we were going for was 'tropical fire' — something contemporary.”

“KatiLady’s no longer pink. They’re red hot,” said one of the evening’s attendees referring to the renowned caterer’s signature pink ribbon logo and motif.

“We work very hard all year long and don’t get to do a lot of stuff with the local community,” said Kati Steinborn, owner and pastry chef of KatiLady Events. “Flavors gives us the opportunity to mingle with local community.”

Many people don’t realize the extend of our services, she added.

“What you see here tonight is a result of the people I work with,” Steinborn said, explaining the important of team work and effort.

“We have a great team of people who have a passion to do hospitality well and a passion to be on St. John,” said Tarta.

KatiLady Events’ table was “cutting edge” and their goal was to show something the community didn’t expect from KatiLady, according to KatiLady Events Executive Chef Kent Johnston.

“We wanted it to be fun, yet St. John and innovative,” continued Johnston. “We create an entire atmosphere and experience.”
